Buying experience was good. Riding quality of bike is fabulous. Suspension are plus point for bike. In terms of looks i would rather say perspective differs from person to person so its up to u how u look towards d bike. Bike feel little bit under power when comes to performance. 411cc engine miss out that punch. Service and maintenance cost will not make hole to ur pocket. As servicing interval is after 10000 km.Pros - a) handling (b) comfort (c) rouged and simple look.Cons - a) performance(need some extra power).

  • The royal himalayan beast unleashed!

    Prabhakar Kamat

6ft tall & well built person like me required really a huge bike! all mid-segment bikes were very small to me & i didn't have super bikes in mind. Then i thought might be royal enfield classic was the answer... My search ended on my visit to royal enfield showroom at hosapete. There was a wall partition with the tinted mirror which divided the workshop and the display room at the royal enfield showroom, and that was very first time i saw her in person. Royal enfield himalayan! my love at first sight... My heart pounded and i made up my mind that this is the bike i'm going to commute daily, take for long spins on weekends and own to myself as a procession for life.I couldn't take this bike for a spin that day as it was under repair, but i booked a new one instead of classic. It was a 50 days long wait period & on the last week of october 2016, finally she was in my arms "the royal enfield himalayan", what a bike!!! its nearly 2 years now and i have been riding more than 17000+ kms. During this journey in time there has been good and bad experiences with this bike which i would love to share with you all. As this re himalayan was the new re-engineered product of royal enfield, there were some issues which many of the re himalayan owners faced (including me). But now after bs4 himalayan has come out mostly all problems are sorted out. Mine was likely the first/second production batch of himalayan. When i received the bike, it had a problematic speedometer, which was replaced by the new one at the first service. Then came the drip leakage problem near drain plug o-ring. I rode 2000+km ride in the months of dec 2016 feb 2017. After this there was a major setback... Battery wont charge! finding faults was a routine habit now. Royal enfield replaced the dynamo which was the problem for this & it was done for free as it was their product failure. After that all is fine now... I love to ride it daily! every 5,000km, i follow a strict maintenance schedule, even though the company says at every 10,000km and gets it done at authorized re service center only. I like its rugged looks. The tyres are awesome. Suspension is stupendous, and god level comfort for riding. The best riding comfort i ever experienced in my 10 years of riding many bikes of friends and colleagues. I really wished that re could have included abs and fuel injection in the re himalayan from start as the export himalayan bikes already had these features back in early 2016. But nevertheless, i am happy that new ones these days come equipped with these upgrade. Now lets talk about the power this beast unleashes... With the 411cc engine clocking max power of 24.5bhp & 32nm torque, its like a raging bull. The sweet spot to cruise on my bike is 120kmph. This bike will never ever let you feel the speed, you feel as 80kmph when cruising above 100+. Lovely aerodynamically designed body. The suspensions are the best as you wont fell the bumpy rides while on rumblers, humps or bad roads. Bad experience were those unplanned breakdowns this bike gave which made me rush it back to service centers. Overall i rate 5 star for this bike in terms of looks, performance, riding and comfort, but little disappointed that royal enfield r&d could have researched a little more so our frequent rush to service centers could have been avoided. In due all of this good and bad experience i still love this bike as much i loved it on the first day i saw it. My search ended with finding of himalayan beast, lets see if the beast chooses you too...

  • Best entry level tourer Absolutely and undoubtedly

    Dipyaman Choudhury

RE Himalayan is best for touring. U take it to the highway or off-road and u will get mind-blowing experience. Even if you drive it 300km a day, your body will not feel the toll of the journey. Sitting position is extremely comfortable for both of driver and pillion. Another thing if u install luggage carrying boxes it will not cause any problem to the pillion. In fact the back luggage box can be used as a rest by the pillion. RE could have given LED headlight and indicators instead of bulbs.
NB this is NOT A RACING BIKE NOT AT ALL. So speedsters don't go for it.

  • Exact review of re himalayan

    Akhiltalapala

Hi, firstly the new Royal Enfield Himalayan is a very good choice to own this motorcycle. The riding experience was literally supreme of all the motorcycles I ever rode. About the looks its a rugged motorcycle with aggressive body and its performance was like wild aradian horse. Servicing and maintenance can be manageable. Pros are mainly the torque and the suspension with high ground clearance. Seat comfort and riding posture was perfect. Cons are where are in bumper to bumper traffic engine heating will be more and misses out on usb charging port and kick start.
My Himalayan giving a mileage of 30 km/l in city and in bumper to bumper traffic it is about 26 km/l. On highways I need to test.

    Alok Gawde

Everything is good about Himalayan. except it's tubed tyre's.
Looks are subjective , For me simply stunning. One can easily ride non-stop for 5-6 Hours min, seats are good & seating posture is best
    Long rides it gives a average of around 32-33 @ 80-90 km/h ,
Servicing cost - not over 1500/-
    Con- tubed tyre's.

  • Bike built for all purpose

    Vignesh

Pros:1.Upright seating position- good for long touring 2.Large front tyres- help to take care of any kind of roads since suspension and spoke compliment to the large tyres 3.Accessories- the best bike you can take for any purpose based on the accessories you fit in this bike, it’s an all purpose bike.4.Headlamps - good and bright , have driven during the nights in ladakh and dint have any such issue.5. Vibration less compared to other re’s Cons: 1.Short riders will feel uncomfortable 2.Engine can heat up easily during long drives ,so you need to give some rest during driving say may be once in 100 kms 3. Doesn’t attract much since it’s a purpose built , so not many colour option available 4. Need to drive with caution in curves due to high seating posture.

Doesn’t attract much since it’s a purpose built , so not many colour option available 4. Need to drive with caution in curves due to high seating posture.
