Making the decision to buy this bike wasn't very challenging, as the gixxer sf was the only trustworthy, fared commuter in the 150cc segment. I'd look at it as a beginner's bike. While i'm glad i bought the bs4 compliant which has a tad more power than it's bs6 version, it could still use a bit more horses. However, any lack is compensated by it's looks which are amazing since the facelift, and the riding position. It is so ergonomic that you barely can find a reason to complain about it. It is a full faring with clip-on handle bars and yet you get an almost completely upright riding position, which is suitable for riding without getting tired, and allows you to get off your bike without a stiff-back.The service provided by suzuki could be also rated as more than satisfactory. The folks at the centre do not just help you maintain your bike, but you can also rely on them for any accessories or advice to improve your riding performance. You could tell that these guys know what they're doing. But that's not all to buying a bike. Comparing it with it's competitive, in the price segment, it's tough to find a better bike, impossible to find a fared one. While the r15 is a good fared 150cc, it's costlier and has a notoriously aggressive riding position. In conclusion, if you're planning on buying gixxer sf, i'd definitely recommend you to put some thought and research in it, but i'd assure you that you've got plenty of green flags to purchase this bike and you would barely have any complains.

Tips for Suzuki Gixxer SF

I'd call myself a beginner to the biking community, but here's some useful tips I learnt to keep my bike well maintained: 1) Don't let the fuel run critically low if your bike is Fuel Injected. 2) Maintain an appropriate tyre pressure for good and safe experience. 3) Get your chain and sprocket lubricated every once in a while, more frequently in the rainy season. 4) As you start learning riding better, try to shift the gear lesser and maintain high rpm to manage low speed on higher gears. 5) Take your bike for regular scheduled servicing to get the engine oil, break oil, and other essentials checked up and tuned. Hope this will improve your riding experience.

I would suggest that instead of buying this, it is better to buy a bike which has fewer plastic parts because it looks good but when you go to get it repaired, then an outside mechanic will not be able to do any work in it. That's why my experience with this bike is not that good Instead, buy a bike that has minimum plastic parts like a Yamaha

High risk of falling in love with this bike. The red one is like fire. Mileage is good (32 to 40 kmpl). The best part of the same is comfort. You may ride with three but comfort comes in a single one. In the same line, you may go wherever you want, but wear a helmet and maintain the safety rules. Don't be a Chapri.

  • Comfortable for long rides

Some say the Gixxer SF is comfortable for long rides and has good ergonomics. However, others say the seat may be firm for long rides and the rear seat is not very spacious
The Gixxer SF has a 155cc fuel-injected engine that provides quick acceleration and responsive power. It has a top speed of about 130 km/h.

    Pro's
Looks wise it is the best one
    Beating is very smooth
    Youthful Bike and very stylish
The seating position and Handling are awesome
    Mileage is coming around 50
    Con's
Performance is not up to mark as its Torque and RPM are a bit low (it affects pickup) compared to other bikes which are available around the 150cc range.
After 70km speed felt hard even after 5400km was completed. which I don't like and gears are struck when you suddenly stop in traffic and at U-turns. It was a very bad experience I never had such a problem with other bikes
Disk pumping(double disk) in high-speed control not working properly breaking the road
if you are above 5.10'' in height you will feel Knee and shoulder pain(it's my personal experience I am 6.0'')
Also observed some display issues in the speedo meter. each point contains 2 ltr oil but sometimes it's suddenly going down. informed a mechanic he is saying that it is a controlled system so it's behaving like that.
last but not least Bikewale please highlight this point we are not finding skilled mechanics for BS6 model bikes even in the authorised service centre they are not doing proper service as they are not properly trained. they are also scared if they do something and it may be affected somewhere because of chip-based software. just doing show work is affecting bike performance. there is a lot of knowledge gap in mechanics.
if anyone wants to buy this bike do a test drive on an open road not in traffic. go 70km speed and try disk pumping(double disk to control speed)then you will find real performance. if you go 50 defiantly will definitely be smooth.

It's a 2016 model Gixxer SF carb Variant. Done 50000 km on it with only general service. Service and spare parts availability is an issue somewhere sometimes. But the bike is quite reliable so we don't feel that so much. Handling is superb. Stock Seat is not for long distances. Gets an average of 55 kmpl. The midrange is superb but lacks top end. We can cruise easily between 70-85.

It was my dream to buy a bike with sports fairing, Most of the time people go for the Yamaha R15, but trust me Gixxer SF is a better choice, it's also way cheaper than the R15. Good mileage around 45 to 55kms. Amazing look and road presence. It will give you a feel of riding a premium sports bike for sure. I am fully satisfied with the bike. I don't have any complaints. But they discontinued the red color and that was disappointing. Red looks way more attractive for sure. But I own a black one and it's also such a Beauty. One small complaint I have is that its gear is a little hard.

Gixxer SF is the best sports tourer in its segment! The engine is refined and the ergonomics is extremely comfortable, great for long rides! It has a sufficient ground clearance of 165mm and ample torque to tackle city conditions! On the highway, it doesn't feel lazy at all; considering the 13.6 PS of power output. And above all, it gives me a mileage of 45kmpl in the city and around 49/50 kmpl on the highway; which is satisfactory for a 155cc motor.
Completed 40k+ km on my Gixxer sf in 2 years; still ride it every day with the same enthusiasm as day 1!
There are no major heating issues that I've felt, this is an air-cooled motor; so expect a little heat in traffic, especially in summer. The gear is a bit hard, but not bothersome to affect the ride quality.
The only drawback, I would consider is the after-sales service. It's not terrible, however not satisfactory either. Suzuki needs to work on it. Apart from that, it's a fun-to-ride machine with good built quality!
Consider this motorcycle, if you are into sports bikes in the sub 200cc segment!

  • It is difficult to maintain

    Rahul Raghu

    Sunil Mali

Some say the Gixxer SF is comfortable for long rides and has good ergonomics. However, others say the seat may be firm for long rides and the rear seat is not very spacious
The Gixxer SF has a 155cc fuel-injected engine that provides quick acceleration and responsive power. It has a top speed of about 130 km/h.
