The riding posture is very comfy and the looks are good the braking is spot on. The acceleration is very good and pickup is also good it has pretty informative speedometer and has a gearshift indicator it is light nimble easy to handle and good for beginners. The mileage is pretty good and the headlights could be better as they aren't too bright. The suspension is very loose but its a good bike for the price range.

  • Suzuki Gixxer - not showstopper but meets expectations

    Nilesh Kulkarni

    Hi all,
I have been using a Suzuki gixxer for almost 10 years- 40000 kilometers. most of the drive in Cities like Mumbai and Pune. The bike is comfortable only for short distances and daily commute to the office. It's a pain if you have to wait in traffic, drive slowly. The seats are not at all comfortable. It's better if you are single be you can ride 50km and 100km comfortably but with a co-passenger- that's very bad comfort. Co co-passenger seat is very very pathetic not sure why Suzuki still gives seats like that. I see Yamaha made changes in seat structure a lot back in their FZ models.
Bike engine performance - I would rate it 4 out 5 - mileage is 35 kmpl, acceleration is still the same, and I do regular servicing. I saw a minor engine leakage- Suzuki was not able to fix that, every time the service center said it was fixed, eventually after a few days I observed oil stains over the engine. I see engine vibrations are increasing but still on the lower side.
Build quality - it is good, my bike is red- and the plastic used over the tail light - color is fading and I see it every other gixxer around me. Overall material is good.
Gear transmission - it's smooth not facing any issues till now.
Maintenance - not much required. Service after 15k km ride. suggested having a long life on a bike.

  • 5 years & 41000 kms of plentiful of memories

    Sasank

Back in 2015, i did lot of market study of available options in 150 cc segment and went ahead for gixxer 155. There were 3 prime criteria's of my decision making: 1. Refinement 2. Longevity 3. Low budget maintenance Things which i didn't focus were: 1. Power 2. Dimensions 3. Service network. Honest feedback/thoughts after 5 years of ownership: 1. The refinement: of the engine is top-notch. I've ridden it in city commute, toured with more than 400+ km in single day with all-terrain and never has the engine shown any signs of breaking a sweat. 2. Handling - is easy with good predictability to keep it's line. It may sometime make you nervous in corners due to braking feedback from the breaks as mrf stock tyres are prone to lock and slippage. In a straight line, average speeds of 75 kmph and 80 kmph is the sweet spot, anything after this speed, the engine resists the acceleration. In short, low and mid-range is something which keeps you happy and top-end isn't it's the likeness. 3. Stance/rider triangle is excellent for a city commute, for touring anything beyond 2-3 hours of continuous riding soar your bottom and shoulders. I'm 5'9 ft and handling for me is super comfort. If you are 5'10 ft and above, you might find yourself cramped.4. Mileage: city is 40 kmpl / highway is 45 kmpl (average cruising speed below 75 kmph). Anything above it, fuel efficiency drops proportionally to average speed. 5. Maintenance: while suzuki's service network is not so spread-out, i have found them at many places during my tours. Spare part are 15%-20% more costly than hero / bajaj but they last good for the price. And average service (excluding any extra repairs) would cost you inr 700-800 with oil change. Summing up: Hits: - refinement of engine - build quality - maintenance cost- riding stance and handling. Miss- braking / tyres - seating comfort (in tours only)- once you mature as a rider, you would long for extra power :)Motorcycle stats: Purchased: feb'2015 odo reading: 41500+ kms Best mileage: 47 kmpl Worst mileage: 36 kmpls Average (city): 40 kmpl Average (highway): 45 kmplAvg. Service cost: inr 700-800 (with oil change)

Had a good buying experience from Maanya Suzuki @ Himayath Nagar. Gave the best pricing compared to any other outlet in Hyderabad and the delivery process was very smooth on top of it they delivered the vehicle to my doorstep. • Excellent Pick up, requied regular Maintenance

    Sanjiv Rahate

Bike pick-up is excellent. If you drive at an average speed, the mileage will be 40 kmpl. Tire consumption is very fast. The chain kit needs to be changed every 12000km. Every part is easily available in the showroom. There is no rust on the bike. The colour of the bike is durable. Worst of all, the leg guard provided by the company got damaged within four months. Bike seats should be more comfortable.

  • Facing problem in suzuki service centres

    Avijit Ray

The buying experience was good the bike looks like a naked monster, riding this bike in the city as well as on highways it's a reliable partner, performance wise by me it's the best in this segment, and service and maintenance are also not too high it takes around 1to2k per service.... But the biggest problem I have faced is after-sales service... Local mechanics can't service this bike it's mechanism is quite different than others and the service centers available in my locality are not working properly every time I have serviced my bike I was not satisfied so please check the service centres before buying any suzuki bike not only gixxer... Thank you.

1 year ago

Thank you.
