  • Gixxer- one of my best decisions.

Price-92000rs on road.Km- 7029 Hi, the story started on 18 june 2018. After many reviews of different bikes in search of a practical all rounder i finally selected gixxer 155 sp( black and orange) duel disk. With some special discounts i pay 92000rs which was 3500 less than original price. Done more than 7000 in almost 2 years as work place is near. I had options for fi and abs version but select duel disk according to my use. Let me tell both +ves and -ves in points. Pros:1. Mileage- getting more than 50kmpl initially surprised me and i check if meter is ok or not. I fill approx 6 ltrs or accurate ltrs after every reserve and calculate mileage by distance between next reserve. Lowest 42 highest 56. Friends struggle below 45 with their 150cc bikes.2. Tyres- very grippy stock tyres. I lean very much even at 70 kph. Very confidence inspiring. 3. Weight- with just 134 kg it's easy to handle, flick able. It look small some people but its compact actually. (i remove center stand and sari guard for reduction of more weight.)4. Performance- it look less powerful on paper but its torquey and accessible at very low rpm. Punchy yet controlled and linear response. 5. Chasis- it has very involving riding experience. Help in maneuverability. Vibration not feel up to 80 kph. 6. Engine- it is very sooth and don't heat that much. Good low mid range. Great for city riding. 7. Seating- upright and comfortable. Seat height is less but ok for both tall and short guys. I have done 850 km in single day but feel very less fatigue. 8. Service cost and parts- service cost is mostly under 600rs. (335 oil+ 35 filter+ 100 chain clean and lube+ 50 washing+ 120-150 labour). But i do chain clean and lube at home which cost less than 50rs. Interval 3500-4000km or 4 month. Parts quality is mostly good, priced reasonable. Didn't change anything till now. 9. Console have every info. And readable. Gear shift indicator leight and gear position indicator. Hope it has riding modes like suzuki gs150r.10. The most complete all rounder package at this price at that time.11. Looks- love its rear looks, curvy design, surfaces finish, duel tip exhaust, fat tyre, cool sp color scheme. Cons: every bike has issue here are some1. Rear seat- rider seat is decent cushioned but rear seat is both small and less cushioned. You can sit for 25-30 min only.2. Performance leg- although its punchy but in beginning it feel out of breath a little bit when shifted not properly. Also the top end could be batter. Gearbox is little hard.3. Spare parts- you find major parts mainly in service centers. So you need to see service centers locations.4. Some quality issues- i see some parts started loosing paint and rusting a little bit. 5. Some design issues- rear seat is high, wind shield very much required, low ground clearance due to exhaust design, useless mud guard design both front and rear, risky long rod welded with center stand, rear grab rails are difficult for lifting bike. 6. Headlight are not powerful enough. 7. Tank is 12.5 lit. A larger tank would help in long trips.8. Suspension could be better. Sudden jerks feel many time.I didn't regret my decision till date. In fact its batter than new gixxer in many ways. And now hope to upgrade to gixxer sf 250. Hope i helped others to understand it properly. Thank you.

The bike is very good. It is easy to go in city as well as highways. Maintenance is very less but sometimes the parts are bit expensive. Very light so little difficult to ride in rains. Bike is very reliable and it is very stylish. The discs are perfectly tuned for any road condition. Moreover it is a budget bike for every Indian.

Visually the bike looks very sporty. Great for college going people. Its a small bike and also light weight at 138kgs which makes it very manageable and agile. Bike does a good job at the corners as well. Power is decent for a 150cc engine. The low end is good which makes it great for city riding, however the top end is week which makes it difficult to reach its top speed. Its a great city bike but not that great in the highway. Pillion comfort is not that great however the seat is soft. Suspension is on a stiffer side. Overall a very fun to ride motorcycle.

  • Suzuki gixxer sf poor make with lots of rusting & expensive repairs

    Avinashandroid

My bike suzuki gixxer sf was purchased in the year 2016. The chrome on exhaust was completely gone within months & the metal around the fuel tank lock was showing signs of rusting within a year. I mentioned it to the service technicians who said that the water drain out channels around the cap often gets blocked leading to rusting. Within 4 years the metal completely rusted thru forming a hole next to the fuel cap. I had to pay 6580 rs for tank replacement. This is my 4th bike & never have i ever seen such severe rusting issues. My bajaj pulsar parked in the open for 8+ years has intact fuel tank, while gixxer is parked under covered parking. All my services till date have been done with suzuki. Why did they not suggest or take timely action & waited till the metal completely rusted thru requiring tank replacement (not repair). Suzuki knows their bikes have rusting issues. There are online news articles where suzuki has accepted excessive rusting issue with gixxr bike in the past and had offered free replacements to its customers (google it). Despite raising complaint with sizuki, no one there is willing to listen. Initially i was impressed with the gixxer bike & wished to upgrade to their higher cc bikes. Now after this experience this is the last suzuki bike i buy.

Suzuki gixxer is firstly one of the most affordable bikes launched by suzuki. It provides you feel like a rider, it generally looks amazing as well as gives average mileage and in my opinion, that mileage condition is quite good for a rider, you can drive it for a longer distance without any difficulty.

Bike pick-up is excellent. If you drive at an average speed, the mileage will be 40 kmpl. Tire consumption is very fast. The chain kit needs to be changed every 12000km. Every part is easily available in the showroom. There is no rust on the bike. The colour of the bike is durable. Worst of all, the leg guard provided by the company got damaged within four months. Bike seats should be more comfortable
