About the Reviewer

Ridden for (If Owned)

0-5000 km

Got mileage of

56 kmpl

Purchasing the vehicle: it was easy and the staff was very helpful at Patel TVS Surat. I got the base model for 65k-69k rupees including accessories worth Rs2.5k(optional)
Riding Experience: ride quality is very smooth.
suspension is too good even on very bad roads.
easily hits 75kmph without pillion rider and otherwise takes a little more efforts when with a pillion rider.
also don't expect anything above 90kmph from the scooty because just no it wont unless you are on a downhill but honestly don't stress the scooty to do more than 80kmph!, it begs you not to!
It has hardly been 20 days since i purchased this scooty and i have already done 2200KM on it,yes i know its a lot in such short time that too on a new scooty.
the main purpose of me getting a vehicle is that i can use it for daily commute and take it on occasional trips, which is a success. for the first 700km i rode the scooty under 55kmph speed as was told to me(manual says 50kmph for 1000km) then got the scooty serviced and got things cleared with the mechanic. as soon as the 1st service was done, me and my friends took off for a long 520km with a pillion rider i got a mileage of 42kmpl with constant speed of 60-70.
Me being on a scooty and my other friends on their bikes, we worried if the scooty could keep up but to my surprise the scooty did an amazing job. even with a pillion rider and Extra luggage since a scooty can accommodate i was cruising at 70-75kmph speed continuously for almost 60km nonstop without any issues. and on a solo trip of 260km i got a mileage of 48kmpl at a constant speed of 75-80 (i covered 260km in 5 hours !).
for the well being of the scooty do take 5-10 min stops every 50km or so.
looks and design:many people told me the scooty looks bulky which it actually does but it is very light to ride and feel.
do not try concerning on this one or any scooty for that reason. because on either sides of the scooty is something that's to low or popping out like one side is the stand and the other side its the engine itself. i once corner to low with a pillion behind which caused the side stand to scrape.
performance:the power feel comes after 60kmph till 80kmph,this is a very nice range because if you want to overtake a truck on highway this power and pull helps a lot,80kmph and then onward it won't accelerate. it has a punchy pick-up speed which allows you to manoeuvre in the city traffic with ease.
brake performance is also very nice for that it being drum brakes just keep them tight also learn your brakes properly before speeding your vehicle.
service and maintenance:after the first service i didn't feel much difference they only Changed the engine oil(310rs) and after 1200km that is after the 510km trip the throttle response declined below 50kmph speed which i got checked at the service center and they cleaned the air filter which did the job. overall the scooty ace's in all aspects. when compared to its rivals Jupiter is the best in fact it's better than many 125cc scooty.
Pros: 12 inch tyre which is good for stability on high speeds and otherwise also.
amazing suspension.
very smooth ride quality.
very small turning radius.
pass light .
mileage is great at 56kmpl in city.
very comfortable seats.
Cons: not many but maybe if a few things could be different:
design should be in favour for cornering.
little more power(because why not)
rear foot pegs should be in a different position.
should have had a mobile storage space or pouch.
i also recommend the drum brakes version because ultimately the disk brake will lock the wheels easily and cause you to skid where as drum brakes are a bit laggy but do the job.
i know many would say disk is better even i thought the same but after using it i can say drum is better on scooty but i don't know how would the drum brakes perform in rainy season.
if you are planning for a scooty then yes i would definitely recommend the Jupiter over the Activa 5g. in fact Jupiter is almost the ideal scooty in the scooty segment.so don't hesitate and go for it.

Tips for TVS Old Generation Jupiter 2013

ride your scooty at only 50-55kmph for the 1st 1000km. then you can give it the beans, avoid sudden acceleration. tighten brakes whenever required.

The buying experience very amazing and exciting Riding experience is very good and the suspension is very very good Looks are gorgeous and the performance are best mileage is amazing Servicing and maintenance are lower than the others No are cons in my point of view Pros for mileage
The top end of the power band leaves you disappointed with the Jupiter 125. The scooter takes a while to push between 60-80 kmph and feels out of breath once you've crossed the 84 kmph mark. While most owners won't do those speeds all day, those looking for performance may find this a little less

When it’s new it is too comfortable but when it’s old we face many problems with their body parts.
The scooter impresses with its stability and handling too, while the refinement levels are right up there. It also gets a segment-first gas-charged rear mono-shock. The Jupiter 125 gets the largest under-seat storage capacity on a petrol scooter at 33 litres. And that's ample space to store a lot more than knick-knacks.

The performance of the Pickup vehicle isn't as reliable as advertised. Despite numerous features, only a handful function properly. Initially, I encountered starting issues that were eventually resolved, but recently, there's been a recurring problem with the side stand sensor. If the sensor malfunctions, the scooter fails to start. Unfortunately, the service centres have been unhelpful, often providing misleading information and overcharging for their services.

  • TVS bad option

    Nilesh

The performance of the Pickup vehicle isn't as reliable as advertised. Despite numerous features, only a handful function properly. Initially, I encountered starting issues that were eventually resolved, but recently, there's been a recurring problem with the side stand sensor. If the sensor malfunctions, the scooter fails to start. Unfortunately, the service centres have been unhelpful, often providing misleading information and overcharging for their services.

Worst brand ever to buy because of the aftersales service. My new bike was a breakdown in one month after buying & when I called the call centre they took too much time to connect with the workshop. The TV workshop is like a local garage. No standerd procedure for repair. . Also buying 125 Jupiter is a crime as the parts are not at all available in the service center.
