Kawasaki KX250 [2021] Summary
The KX250 is a dirt bike, or a motocross bike, from Kawasaki for the Indian market. It’s a purpose-built machine that’s not road legal and cannot be registered for riding on public roads.
Every single component in the KX250 is meant to take on some hard abuse while riding, sliding and jumping on varied terrains. Built around an aluminium perimeter frame, it rides on long travel, fully adjustable 48mm upside down forks up front and a Uni Trak adjustable monoshock at the rear. The wired spoke wheels are shod with knobby tyres to stick on rough surfaces. Stopping power is provided by a single petal-type disc at both ends.
Powering the Kawasaki KX250 is a 249cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine power figures for which aren’t revealed by the brand. However, what we know is that the 2022 model makes 1.3bhp more than its predecessor. On the flip side, it weighs 3kg more now with a kerb weight of 107.3kg. Available features in the bike include a launch control mode, three engine maps, and adjustable handlebar and footpegs.
Kawasaki has pegged the 2022 KX250 at Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom) which makes it around Rs 56,000 more expensive than the previous iteration.
