Triumph has pulled the wraps off its new motorcycle – the new Street Scrambler. As the name suggests, this motorcycle is based on the Street Twin platform.
The Street Scrambler has been built around a new chassis that houses a longer rear shock which will prove very useful in off-road situations. It also gets a wider handlebar, a 19-inch spoked wheel at the front and a 17-inch rim at the rear. The bike is fitted with Metzeler Tourance tyres, which offer good grip in a variety of off- and on-road situations.
This new Street Scrambler has been designed to cater to a wider customer base and for that, the British manufacturer has given the bike a low seat height. Other equipment includes an interchangeable pillion seat and aluminium rear rack, removable pillion pegs and adventure style front pegs. To suit the adventure and off-road nature, the bike is also equipped with a bash plate. The best way to look at the Street Scrambler is from its right – credit the side-mounted stainless steel exhaust.
Powering this Triumph is the same 900cc parallel-twin motor that produces 55bhp and 80Nm of peak torque. Gearbox is six-speed that transfers power to the rear wheel via a chain drive. Just like the Street Twin, the Street Scrambler also gets a USB charging point and close to 150 accessories options. We’re expecting Triumph India to launch the Street Twin sometime next year.
