Hero MotoCorp has marginally reduced the prices of its models ranging from Rs 400 to Rs 1,800. The price cut varies from state to state, depending on the pre and post GST rates of the state. However, in states where the pre-GST rates were lesser than the post-GST rates, prices of the models have gone up. Under GST, a majority of two wheelers will soon attract a tax rate of 28 per cent as against the current 30 per cent. However, bikes over the 350cc segment will attract an additional cess of three per cent which takes the total tax to 31 per cent
Hero MotoCorp sells models across different segments with prices ranging from Rs 35,000 for the HF Deluxe to Rs 1.05 lakh for Karizma ZMR. The price reduction for premium segment models could be as much as Rs 4,000 in some markets.
