Suzuki Katana Review: Image Gallery

The Katana is the only litre-class offering from Suzuki in India. And as we found out during our stint with the bike, it’s a desirable one at that. You can read our detailed take on the Katana here. Now, in this post, we bring you some of the most stunning pictures of the bike from our first ride review.

Suzuki Katana Front View

The Katana justifies its name with extremely sharp design lines running across its bodywork. Its semi-faired design is inspired by the original 1981 Katana.

Suzuki Katana Left Side View

The combination of a high-set handlebar, mildly rear-seat footpegs, and spacious seat offers a good balance between commitment and comfort. However, the 825mm seat height could be a little inaccessible for the shorter riders.

Suzuki Katana Right Side View

The kerb weight of the Katana stands at 217kg which makes it a bit difficult to move around in parking. However, all that heft disappears on the move as it turns into a profoundly agile machine.

For a little-class sportbike, the list of features available in the Katana is decent. You get three riding modes, traction control with five settings, bi-directional quickshifter, Ride-By-Wire throttle, low rpm assist to avoid stalling, and the Suzuki easy start assist.

Propelling the bike is the same K5, 999cc, inline four-cylinder motor borrowed from the GSX-R1000 that pumps out 152bhp and 106Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a six-speed gearbox with an assist and slipper clutch.

The bike rides on 17-inch wheels with adjustable front and rear suspension, sourced from Kayaba. Despite being a sharp handler, it delivers a comfortable ride, handling most of the undulations with composure and suppleness.

Suzuki Katana Fuel Tank

With a price tag of Rs 13.61 lakh, the Suzuki Katana sits on the affordable side of the superbike spectrum. However, if you want something cheaper, the Kawasaki Ninja 1000 SX costs about Rs 2 lakh lesser than the Ninja.
