The FZ V3 is the model that revived Yamaha’s fortunes in India, and since its launch it has been the gold standard for the 150cc sporty commuter, as far as the sales figures are concerned. It offered a number of new technologies like radial tyres and a centralised fuel tank at the time of its launch. It is also one of the pioneers of fuel injection, having made the entire FZ range FI at a time when its competitors were still depending heavily on carburetted variants.
Yamaha Motor India has updated its FZ FI model for 2021. The updated version of the roadster, similar to its premium version, the FZS FI, is two kilograms lighter than the 2020 model, and it tips the weighing scale at 135kg as against 137kg. However, unlike the S variant, the FZ FI misses the Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X Bluetooth technology that offers access to functions such as answer back, e-lock, locate my bike, hazard, etc.
The FZ FI will be sold in two colour options – racing blue and metallic black. The feature list continues to include a single-channel ABS, an LED headlight, a 140mm wide rear radial tyre, and a two-level single-piece saddle. The safety net has been enhanced with the addition of a side-stand engine cutoff function on the 2021 model.
Mechanical specifications continue to comprise a BS6-compliant 149 cc, fuel-injected, engine that produces 12.2bhp and 13.6Nm. The hardware includes telescopic forks at the front, preload-adjustable rear mono-shock, and disc brakes on both wheels.
The FZS FI competes against the likes of the Honda X-Blade, Bajaj Pulsar NS160, Suzuki Gixxer, and the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V.

Firstly I would like to put it straight forward. My Yamaha FZ fi 150cc was the second version. It was the best first bike to buy. My buying experience was average due to the dealership that I bought it from. As far as riding experience goes. I prefer the seating triangle. It is upright, relaxed and comfortable. Also i have had many people who've sat as a passenger and say that the ride was smooth, no vibrations at all. to me. My bike looks like an autobot, which i think is radical. Its performance is really good. I just wish it had a 6 speed gearbox. For a 150 cc, its performs well enough, but for commuting or traveling on a highway the 5 speed gearbox just doesn't cut it. Although it is quite torquey, it has a lot of of punch. Just step down to the gear below what you're on and smoke them / overtake them. Pros: it's a fun bike for beginners. It has a decent 12ltr tank capacity. Great mileage.Cons: not really recommended for touring long distances because of it's small displacement.

Tips for other riders
Change your oil after 3000km. Use a microfiber cloth while wiping all plastic panels so they don't get scratches. If you plan on waxing/polishing your bike, either use a soft sponge or a microfiber cloth. Do not use the same cloth for washing and wiping it dry. Use chain lube and not gear oil to clean your chain, gear oil attracts more dirt. Use a brush specifically meant for cleaning your chain.

It best to buy on cash not on emiBest bike to daily use on long road trips also. Looks are very good and it has best performance. Service cost is Rs. 1800. Do all service on time then your bike will be in good condition. Pro. Good mileage looks, big tank, best handling, best braking Con. Battery issues, chain loose, parts are too costly.

Yamaha FZ FI
Faiyyaj Sayyad
I recently got my hands on the Yamaha FZ FI, and it's been an exhilarating ride. The bike's sleek design drew me in, and the performance exceeded my expectations. The fuel injection system ensures a smooth and responsive throttle, making city commutes a breeze. The handling is nimble, and it feels stable on curves. However, I did notice that the seat is a bit firm for long rides, which could be a consideration for some. Overall, the Yamaha FZ FI delivers an enjoyable riding experience, combining style and performance.

Tips for other riders
Regular Oil Changes: Ensure timely oil changes according to the manufacturer's recommendations. This helps maintain engine performance and longevity. Check Tire Pressure: Regularly inspect and maintain the recommended tire pressure. Proper tire inflation ensures better fuel efficiency and handling. Brake System Inspection: Periodically check the brake pads and discs. Replace them if worn and ensure the brake fluid is at the correct level. Air Filter Cleaning/Replacement: Clean or replace the air filter at regular intervals to ensure proper air flow and combustion efficiency. Chain Maintenance: Keep the bike chain properly lubricated and tensioned. A well-maintained chain improves performance and extends the life of the sprockets. Coolant Level Check: Monitor the coolant level regularly, especially before long rides. Ensure it's at the recommended level to prevent overheating. Battery Care: Check the battery terminals for corrosion and ensure a secure connection. Charge the battery if needed, especially during periods of inactivity. Suspension Check: Periodically inspect and adjust the suspension as needed. Proper suspension settings contribute to a comfortable ride. Lighting and Electrical Systems: Regularly check all lights, indicators, and electrical components. Replace any bulbs that are not working and address electrical issues promptly. Inspect Cables and Controls: Check throttle and brake cables for smooth operation. Lubricate or replace them if they show signs of wear. Keep it Clean: Regularly clean your bike, including the chain, to prevent the buildup of dirt and debris. A clean bike not only looks good but also performs better. Follow the Service Schedule: Adhere to the manufacturer's service schedule outlined in the owner's manual. This ensures comprehensive maintenance at recommended intervals.
