  • Best in 150cc-160cc variants with unbelievable mileage

    Sriram Chaitanya

I have bought it on my birthday as a gift from my wife, apache has been my crush since i am 14 years old, but i have not purchased apache however it's my 2nd vehicle from tvs. I have driven almost all sports bikes, but this 4v is really amazing, the gear shift is really smooth and the transmission is awesome, i haven't felt tired even after driving 52kms ins a single ride, in city this bike gives you 45kmpl for sure, i have made mileage test and its really giving 45kmpl in city like hyderabad traffic, I've tested on the highway, with one passenger on it gave me 61kmpl and with 2 passengers it gave 55kmpl. This bike is best for its pick up. My friend owns apache rtr 160 and its 6 years old, but it still has good pick up, this is the speciality of apache. Coming to looks, this is beast of its race. I would rank this as #1 in 150-160cc variants. Coming to servicing it hardly costs 1200 for paid full servicing, you get 5 years engine warranty. Anyone looking to purchase, please do go for it.

  • front suspension and abs problem from the first day

    Tushar Ahuja

The riding experience of bike have been good. The power it produces is also amazing being 160cc bike and yes smoothness of engine is also good it easily cruises at 95kmph but the major problem i faced is with the abs yes when i m on highway or suddenly i hit any speed breaker or pothole the shocker and the brake lever gets very hard and the front brakes don't work i have to put all the pressure on rear brakes due to which bike skids. i reported this problem to center they said no its normal the abs works like this only. but now when i forced them to check the problem properly now they said it can be a problem we will call technician soon and it is some abs and suspension issue.

  • Not for mileage only go for performance

    Akhil

I have dual disc variant. Getting low mileage i.E, max. 35kmpl in economical speed (40-50). Before and after the 1st service. Problem with rear disc brake system, it makes an annoying sound while applying brake which the service center guy not fixed my problem in 1st service, he just cleaned the disc plates and given the bike. The only pro is the performance of this bike is like a beast in 1 lakh price range.

Its just amazing experience to have this new edition of this beast. Most important thing i liked in this is its speed and aggressive look. Its giving mileage around 43. and if you buy it just go for the dual disc model. I have bought the black model. But i think few colour choices should be added. Thank you tvs.

  • The return of rtr

I've been looking for a good 160 cc bike since a long time now and this is where my search ends. Perfect bike for city riding and daily use, occasional racing can be done smoothly with this bike, and also it is a perfect choice for touring as well due to it's ride comfort and good mileage. For more clarity I've divided my review into pros and cons as follows Pros-1. Good macho looks.2. Great ride quality.3. Good mileage.4. Vibration problem was addressed and now the bike has no or very less vibrations at very high speeds 5. Budget friendly for a person looking for a bike with good mileage, hunky looks and raw performance Cons-1.Optional abs should have been provided.2.More colour options should have been available.3. Headlamp quality could be better So,overall perfect bike in it's segment leaving even bikes like cb hornet far behind.

I was planning to buy tvs apache rtr 160 4v since September of the year but it was not available at showroom. I paid token amount to book one. Last month the showroom manager informed that a special edition of the bike has been brought. Thereafter within an hour i was home with my new apache 160 4v special edition.
I have no words to explain my riding experience. Seriously, it's called refinement. I have driven previous models of apache for years and now i can bet that r & d team of tvs is probably the best r & d team of motor world. Vibration has been wiped out from the engine completely.
Special edition is in matt black colour with touch of red on alloy wheels and believe me it's very appealing. Drl is shifted horizontally in headlamp and fuel tank is wider. From back it looks like it's 200 cc variant. Adjustable clutch and brake livers are add-on and very useful. There are three riding modes given- rain, urban and sports. First two of them have been arranged to limit engine rpm according to road and traffic conditions while sports mode revealed full potential of the machine. Dual disc brakes are doing fine. Suspension is a bit soft which provides good comfort. Stiffed chassis and radial tyres give confidence of leaning on sharp turnings. Apart from digital meter console bluetooth connectivity is going to be a specialty of tvs. These features make me feel like riding a sports bike of higher price point. Last but not the least mileage of 45 km/l is also appreciable over 100 kmph of top speed as of now. After services the statistics must be improved.
    Pros -
    1. Premium and dynamic look.
    2. Premium features like adjustable livers and bluetooth connectivity.
    3. Lesser weight (than ns 160).
    4. Powerful and fuel efficient.
    Cons -
    1. Dual channel abs is expected.
Conclusion - there is no better deal in this segment. Pay some extra for special edition and you won't regret it.

    Alankrit Srivastava
