  • A bike for city commute and weekend ride. Can it be a good tourer..

    Subhojit Dutta

I have taken the test ride of ronin. It is super smooth, has great colors and has good ground clearance. I own an avenger 220 cruise. I think the bike should be heavier so that we can get more confidence in touring. It can cruise well at 80-90 kms per hour on highways. Have a doubt if it can cruise well at 100-120 kms. Well, we would be missing a windshield or a small visor from tvs's end. Was expecting a little more torque for the hilly terrains and off-road. Pricing could be at least 10k lesser to get an edge over the competitors. We have other good touring bikes in lesser price fz250, pulsar 250f with more power.
But if you think about the city commute and small touring on weekends then it is really a nice package.

  • TVS Ronin: Retro Charm with Modern Performance - A Comprehensive Review

    Arijit Roy

The TVS Ronin is a well-rounded motorcycle that caters to both city commuters and touring enthusiasts. Its 225.9cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine delivers a peppy performance with a strong low and mid-range pull. The bike's comfortable ergonomics, plush ride quality, and agile handling make it a capable city companion. Additionally, the Ronin is equipped with a host of modern features like full-LED lighting, Bluetooth connectivity, voice assist, and dual-channel ABS. While the top-end variant's price of Rs 1.49 lakh (ex-showroom) may seem steep, the bike offers good value with its comprehensive feature list. The only downsides are the lack of dual-channel ABS across the range and slightly underwhelming highway performance. Overall, the TVS Ronin is a well-executed retro-styled motorcycle that strikes a good balance between style, technology, and practicality.

Break in the engine properly by varying speeds and not pushing it too hard in the first 1000 km. This will help the engine parts condition themselves for better performance and longevity. Service the bike regularly as per TVS recommendations, which is every 4 months or 3000 km. Timely servicing is crucial for maintaining the bike's performance and reliability.

TVs Ronin bike is value for money even in this segment it competes with big brands. It gives us mileage up to fifty kilometers per liter which makes it an economical vehicle. The riding experience of riding the bike is awesome and everything in this bike feels expensive and comfortable and overall a good bike you can go for this.

  • Overall good bike with Good mileage

    Keshri

I've been using this bike for daily commutes and occasional rides for about 18 months, and overall, it's a good choice. It has proven to be reliable and efficient, with a mileage of around 40-42 km/l, which is impressive for my needs. The bike's performance and durability have generally met my expectations, making it a solid option for both everyday use and longer journeys.
However, there are a couple of issues that prevent me from giving it a full five-star rating. First, there's a noticeable chain noise that becomes quite distracting, especially during longer rides. This noise detracts from the overall riding experience, and despite regular maintenance, it persists. It’s not a deal-breaker, but it’s certainly something that affects the bike's appeal.
Second, the bike experiences significant wind blasts when riding above 70 km/h. This makes high-speed rides less comfortable and can be particularly bothersome on highways or during longer trips. The lack of effective wind protection at higher speeds is a downside for those who often find themselves riding at these velocities.
Despite these drawbacks, the bike is still a strong performer in many areas. Its fuel efficiency, reliability, and general performance are commendable. The issues with chain noise and wind blast are notable but do not overshadow the bike's many positive attributes. For someone looking for a dependable bike with good mileage for daily commuting and occasional longer rides, this model is still a worthwhile option.
In conclusion, while the chain noise and wind blast at higher speeds are drawbacks, they are not severe enough to outweigh the bike's overall performance and efficiency. Hence, I rate it four stars, reflecting its strengths while acknowledging its minor flaws.

1). It's cheap compared to its competitors but doesn't fail in performance
    2) it's not the best..But does the job.
    3) I take it out for like 50km stretch 4-5 times a week.. So far so good..Bit vibrations at top speed. Navigation is good. Looks stand out from its higher-end competitors..
    4) had one service till now.. So didn't have to spend a paise.. I do weekly once cleaning so it's well maintained so far.
    5) pros - budget-friendly, good power for 250 cc, handling is smooth, navigation.

  • Ronin ride and ownership experience after use of 2 months.

    Ankit Srivastava

Got a great deal, from rpm tvs (e-city), went with top model with dual channel abs and bluetooth instrument cluster. This bike ticks all boxes for my purpose, top speed of 115 - 120 km/h, I felt comfortable and stable at the cruising speed of 110 km/h, smooth acceleration, and the clutch is very smooth. Breaking is very decent. In my opinion, it is among the best options in this segment which gives you an easy ride in the heavy traffic of bangalore.
    Pre-service mileage : 36km/h
Post-service: 38+ i got these values driving in the city for most of the part.
Service cost: 2000 inr (one can expect after the first 3 service. )
My riding and performance experience has been very pleasant so far.
    Cons:
I read somewhere in the reviews about the heating problem since the engine is air-cooled. Haven't driven for longer rides (100km+) so can't respond to that.
The instrument cluster comes with a navigation system, but it fails to deliver its purpose. Every other feature of this instrument cluster works very smooth.
