1st test ride was 100 meters so I was dissatisfied and called the dealership of Tvs and took another test ride.
Purchase procedures were not hectic but there internal procedures of moving the documents for getting the bike registered were quite slow.
Coming to the review of the bike-
    Pros:
    1. Overall riding posture is quite good for both city rides and even longer rides.
    2. Handling of the bike is quite smooth and comfortable.
    3. ABS works very very good
    4. The stability of the bike at high speeds is very good.
    5. Engine quality till now felt good
    6. Mileage for a 225cc is approx 35kmpl which is decent
    7. Slipper clutch at this price range with a few other features like Bluetooth, USD forks, adjustable brake& clutch levers, etc are appreciable.
    Cons:
    1. Though overall riding posture is good the foot brake lever position is placed a bit inward which causes your knee pain after traveling in a high-traffic area where the use of brakes is heavy.
    2. Using too much clutch makes the engine hot very quickly.
    3. Random issues with the bike are very very frequent and very disturbing and for that you will have to spend extra time and money to get it fixed, however service centers of TVS make a decent effort to do the needful.
Issues I have faced are- Cracky noise in the chain which does not go away fully, Headlight turned blue and then replaced and then the new one stopped working totally, tappet sound also noticed, the front of the bike shaking too much while at smooth roads and rev is not as per the gear compression ratio (very sensitive gear compression ratio), Color of few parts easily come off, accessories like charger sold by TVS are not reliable, gear sensor stops working, DTE (reading of distance to empty) does not work properly.
    4. Rear brakes are not up to the mark based on the power, torque, and capacity of the bike.
    5. The bike engine cuts off unusually sometimes.
Overall the cons win over the pros if you look for a new bike without much hassle.
Hence I would recommend not going for this one as it will upset you easily.

  • Ronin: A tale of lone samurai...

Buying experience was great, Shaw TVS employees are very polite, sales person offered me ₹2000 discount.
I've been riding this bike around 2000kms since 20th may.. everything seems fine in terms of performance, upright riding posture, headlight illumination, tractable handling, comfortable seat cushion, comfortable and balanced suspension setup... Mileage is quite good around 40kmpl.. this bike looks very unusual and sexy.. dual channel ABS works very well.. Smooth gear shifting and light clutch give you a painless experience..
Service at TVS service centre depends on the cooperation of the manager, if you realise that you are not getting helped by them just mention the name of the manager and the name of the service centre on the recent insta post of TVS Ronin to get the instant help from the TVS.
Pros: Adjustable brake and clutch lever, slipper clutch, smooth gear shifting, light weight, Style, handling, suspension, seat cushion, headlight, ground clearance, dual purpose tyre etc.
Cons: certain chain noise, narrow viewing angle of the mirrors, rear tyre could have been a little wider (140 instead of 130), TVS Tru4 synthetic engine oil is not good etc.

  • Tvs ronin performance in a unique package

    Prasanta Baidya

    Review: tvs ronin bike
The tvs ronin is a stunning motorcycle that combines power, style, and performance in a unique package. As an avid motorcycle enthusiast, i had the opportunity to ride and experience this bike firsthand, and i must say it left a lasting impression on me.
First and foremost, the design of the tvs ronin is simply breathtaking. With its sleek and aggressive lines, it exudes a sense of power and speed. The attention to detail is evident in every aspect, from the beautifully crafted fuel tank to the sharp led headlamps. The bike has a modern and futuristic appeal that sets it apart from other motorcycles on the market.
When it comes to performance, the tvs ronin truly shines. Powered by a high-performance engine, it delivers an exhilarating ride. The acceleration is quick, and the bike effortlessly reaches high speeds. The handling is precise and responsive, allowing for nimble maneuvering in both city traffic and open highways. The suspension setup provides a comfortable ride while maintaining stability, even on bumpy roads.
One of the standout features of the tvs ronin is its advanced technology. The bike comes equipped with a fully digital instrument cluster that provides a wealth of information at a glance. It includes a speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, gear indicator, and various other essential indicators. Additionally, the bike features a usb charging port, allowing riders to conveniently charge their devices on the go.
Safety is always a top priority, and the tvs ronin doesn't disappoint in this regard. It is equipped with a robust braking system that offers excellent stopping power, giving riders confidence in various riding conditions. Furthermore, the bike features anti-lock braking system (abs) technology, enhancing safety by preventing wheel lock-up during sudden braking.
Another aspect worth mentioning is the comfort and ergonomics of the tvs ronin. The seating position is well-designed, providing a comfortable ride even during long journeys. The footpegs and handlebars are appropriately placed, contributing to a relaxed riding posture. Additionally, the seat cushioning is plush and supportive, ensuring rider comfort over extended periods.
In conclusion, the tvs ronin is an exceptional motorcycle that impresses on all fronts. Its stunning design, powerful performance, advanced technology, and focus on safety make it a standout choice in the market. Whether you're a seasoned rider seeking an adrenaline-fueled experience or a casual enthusiast looking for a stylish ride, the tvs ronin is undoubtedly worth considering.

  • A tamed beast- t-rex

    Amit Upadhyaya

    1) buying experience(6/10) - I bought it in kolkata and the sales team were very active to pitch the product. However, I felt that post the payment they all left me alone to navigate and get the delivery of my bike. I am used to seeing big key handovers for bikes and all on Instagram and Facebook and however, nothing happened with me and I felt a little bit disappointed. Maybe it happened in that particular showroom of tvs and when asked how much petrol is there in the tank they mentioned sufficient enough to reach the nearest petrol pump and I was surprised as for a fuel injection machine a minimum of 3 liters needs to be in the tank and when asked for it they said: "petrol bahot mehenga hai" . So overall the room experience could have been better.
    2) riding experience (8/10):- my t-rex is very comfortable to ride with beautiful ergonomics and comfort at every rev. The shocker absorbs most of the bumps. However, if you are looking for excitement then the ronin is not for you. The Rev doesn't feel powerful the one you can feel on maybe honda cb300f (same price). It sure catches the eyes here and there. I am loving the experience as I am a little bit of a boring kinda person who doesn't want high speeds. The highway experience was good either. Ronin can cruise comfortably at 80-85 kmph , anything above 90 gives a little bit tough time to the engine -7/10. City drives cannot be more comfortable - 10/10 on this. Rain is a little bit of pain in the back, like literally as the is a lot of mud bounces from the back and it would ruin the back of the pillion or rider. Tried finding a proper tire hugger but the position of the rear mudguard is very awkward to place any tire hugger.
3 details about looks, performance, etc(8/10)- ronin's looks are very subjective, so I am giving just my opinion - I find it very handsome and dashing - the grey color looks fabulous on the beast and everything clicks -the front is work of marvel. It's beautiful and sexy to look at.
Performance is quite good as well as expected the square engine produces distributed power at every gear quite nicely and you don't feel under-powered at any gear, even the fifth. The torque and power may look less as compared to any other 200+ cc bike but to be very honest it was designed like this itself. Bluetooth connection is poorly made - just plain stupid - dte is inconsistent even if you are a consistent rider with 4000rpm and maintaining below 55kmph. Mileage ranged from 36-40 (36,40,38 before the first service and 38 after the first service). No engine heating issues were found. After the first service top speed was achieved with the pillion 115 kmph.
    4) service and maintenance(na) -service was quite fast and not sure what they did. Surely changed the air filter and mobil however I noticed they did not was my bike. Maybe I kept it clean that's why.
    5)pros -
    A) looks are beautiful
B)seats are very comfortable for the rider
    C)shock absorbers are very good.
    D)high beam very good.
    E)engine is very smooth.
    F) front abs work amazingly.
    Cons-
A)badly made right mirror which is just poorly designed.
B)low beam light is not sufficient at all.
    C) mudguard is ineffective and spills water.
    D) training not given on new bike ronin to the engineers in the workshop.
    E)bad sales team.
    F) disc plates are cheap quality,
    G)rear brakes are just bad.
Overall take your decision by yourself, I love the bike and plan to stick to it till T-rex doesn't give up my overall rating is 8/10. What about you?

  • A bike for city commute and weekend ride. Can it be a good tourer..

    Subhojit Dutta

I have taken the test ride of ronin. It is super smooth, has great colors and has good ground clearance. I own an avenger 220 cruise. I think the bike should be heavier so that we can get more confidence in touring. It can cruise well at 80-90 kms per hour on highways. Have a doubt if it can cruise well at 100-120 kms. Well, we would be missing a windshield or a small visor from tvs's end. Was expecting a little more torque for the hilly terrains and off-road. Pricing could be at least 10k lesser to get an edge over the competitors. We have other good touring bikes in lesser price fz250, pulsar 250f with more power.
But if you think about the city commute and small touring on weekends then it is really a nice package.

  • Daily commuters to long distance cover ronin is a best part of tvs

    Arpan

Actually, this is the 1st cruiser segment bike that I have bought. I love to ride re bikes but after ronin, it's quite possible that ronin can easily compete with re bikes through that high cc bikes.
Good commuter, with a great experience. The suspension is awesome and the low-end torque is good. The 't' shape headlight can attract yourself and others. The front and rear seat is quite good but can be better.

  • Tvs ronin the unreliable beast.

    Abhishek Singh

    Buying experience: 1/5: a middle-class person buys a motorcycle once in a 10yr or 5yr.
Riding experience: 3/5: it's a heavy bike with a large turn radius, so for a city commute bit tricky.
Looks: 4/5. Pretty good-looking, with a premium feel.
Servicing/maintenance: it's my first tvs and fuel-injected bike and I told them but no guidance. On the first day of delivery, they said 1 liter of fuel is there after just 8 kms fuel got over, and we put in 2.5 liters of fuel but it didn't start, at last, in the night we had to push the bike to 1 km. Tweeted, and called in all possible ways but no help right on the first day and no help on the second day also. Don't expect great service.
After spending 2 lakh rupees on a top model, I get unreliable servicing, fake promises, and an unknown future with tvs.
It is not enough to make a good product. Hospitality, buying experience and service experience are equally important for the success of product.
P.S. Wise are the ones who learn from others' mistakes.
    Happy riding, and best wishes.

  • TVS's unscripted?? Or TVS's cheapest scripted junk??

    Subrah Ghorai

    Subhajit Paul

  • TVS's unscripted?? Or TVS's cheapest scripted junk??

    Subrah Ghorai

    Tips for other riders

Don't drag it. It is a smooth bike and good for cruising at 80-90. Change oil at 2500 kms. It will give a good performance in city and weekend rides.
