This bike comes from nowhere and stands tall among its opponent. This was never expected from TVS side and they are back into their game with the new TVS Ronin 225. Competing with his own competitor TVS RTR 200 4V and all other bikes under 200 CC segment, Ronin stands as a gun with his peppy performance and as a greater commute machine. RTR is moreover like a bike for track purposes but Ronin comes over with beautiful riding ergonomics suitable for daily commutes and also as a tourer. With its Retro style, it also competes with higher CC retro machines which makes Ronin an affordable than the others. These points came up with its looks and design during the launch. Let's wait for the machine to roar inroads. I am eagerly waiting for its performance on the city roads as well as highways and keen to know what separates Ronin from other competitors....

  • Cultronin. Period.. Ace of all characters..Its new identity

    Mohamed Abdullah

    1. Buying experience: as it was showcased in city dealer at present.. But my dealer arranged the delivery in one day for the top model.. I was extremely satisfied with this gesture.. And to the flip side ... I didn't take a test ride .. Mmmm.. That's not the flip side .. It's how much confidence i had in ronin .. Desi make... Always vocal for desi company ... I'm not left disappointed .. Rather proud now.. Because i'm the first owner in my district ( tenkasi, tamil nadu)
    2. Riding experience: oh voww... That's the amazing part .... I have not taken any chance to go for pure riding gimmicks... I know what you were thinking.. Be practical and meet the need of the hour... And ask to yourself what your bike is to you and don't go by the unnecessary cult-crazy world.. Because sometimes manufacturers give something useful and better this time desi manufacturer gives a breakthrough product I guess.. Because it's worth every penny and no way it's gonna let you down... In posh comfort when you ask what the bike intended to deliver.. And oh boy..It delivers in style and it's premium.. Big smile on my face ....
3: looks and performance: as always looks are subjective.. And i would tell one thing here it gives everything for all riders in 225 cc premium plush package that's what the beauty is... Performance's smooth, friendly, and linear but on the torquier side.. So there is no shortage of peppier burns in the low end too.. And the state of tune makes it die easily in top end.. Hey, come on.. No one needs that much of the top end always( and top ends are always gettable and it was not that hard to achieve as some says).. And it holds good for touring in 90 to 100 without any hustle.. Remember it's not 350 cc engine ... And full mark for nimble and tractable nature with the highest comfort and good safety features.. Tires offer great ride quality. And one more thing those niche techies add-ons are not gimmicks when compared to cult gimmicks... Ha ha .... Own ronin to understand that... And engine heat is not an issue or bothering at all... Vibration does kick in and it doesn't spoil your ride quality at any red-line ride... Again understand the nature of 225 cc spade of all ( i find only aces)... I'm not an adventure tourer.. I'm a commuter who wants all characters of 2 wheel riding experience in one bike. And ronin gives me in style...I don't have to worry about tech updates for say comfortably 5 yrs more to come.. That's the icing on the cake and definitely not a gimmick..
    4. Service and maintenance: yet to do my first service..
    5. Pros: damn it's good in all aspects and i would say the big pro is it doesn't fit in any character of 2-wheel design.. That's a very very big plus for me because it's a looker.. Again on it to feel its thing.... Stylish, nimble, tractable, posh polished hustle free friendly comfortable ride( it can tour ) and all merits with peppier burns right from low rpms.. The tank is big.. Horn is great.. the High beam is good...Silent start...Quality controls...And blessed with all new tech and safety features amazing...In top-end models.. Highly value for money quotient last but not the least kitna deta hai thing.. It puts a smile on owner's face.. 40 to 43 is easy...
Cons: 1. Low beam strength ( spread is great) 2. Mirrors need some adjustments after delivery (it's correctable.. Not a big deal)... 3. Pillion seats could be lengthier a bit...Again not a big deal...
Overall... It's the new cult ... Gonna rock 225 cc segment and it is punching above it's weight in flying colours.. And i am happy to choose it over re hunter... Wink wink... Any time ronin over cult gimmicks of re... Because i value quality...Safety and comfort and tech any day...Why not if it's there.. Worth every penny.. I am happy for desi manufacturer.. Remember one always commutes more than adventure touring... So it checks all boxes ... That's the beauty of this beast... Niche enthusiastic riders won't find anything useful in these comments.. Because this bike is odd and out of the box... And good in all manners.. I would say better than the competition in all manners.. For the bucks and it's super premium
    Happy and safe riding friends.

  • Tvs ronin the unreliable beast.

    Abhishek Singh

    Buying experience: 1/5: a middle-class person buys a motorcycle once in a 10yr or 5yr.
Riding experience: 3/5: it's a heavy bike with a large turn radius, so for a city commute bit tricky.
Looks: 4/5. Pretty good-looking, with a premium feel.
Servicing/maintenance: it's my first tvs and fuel-injected bike and I told them but no guidance. On the first day of delivery, they said 1 liter of fuel is there after just 8 kms fuel got over, and we put in 2.5 liters of fuel but it didn't start, at last, in the night we had to push the bike to 1 km. Tweeted, and called in all possible ways but no help right on the first day and no help on the second day also. Don't expect great service.
After spending 2 lakh rupees on a top model, I get unreliable servicing, fake promises, and an unknown future with tvs.
It is not enough to make a good product. Hospitality, buying experience and service experience are equally important for the success of product.
P.S. Wise are the ones who learn from others' mistakes.
    Happy riding, and best wishes.

  • Absolutely unscripted and unmatched too..

    Deepak

It is an absolute cruiser on a cruise road,
It is a scrambler on a tough road,
It is a lovely commuter to its boss,
Its makers keep on tagging it as unscripted,
    But you need a ride,
    Then you will feel,
    It is not just unscripted,
    But unmatched too.
I am the first buyer of this bike in 2023 from trichur tvs dealer in thrissur district.
And while sharing this review, I intend to make it clear to anyone who is confused to buy this bike with the option of any other bike in mind.
That is, this bike is just unmatched, the level of comfort you get on cruising is unparallel. The only bike which I felt as comfortable with as this was h'ness during my time of test riding. I test-rode almost all bikes of 200cc and above.
Starting from the hunter, classic 350, xpulse, hornet 2.0, cb200, and h'ness apart from ronin, and finalized with ronin because of sheer comfort,
I am a daily commuter to an office of 26 km from my town, and I used to depend on the bus before buying my ronin, and for 3 months now I am on it, and there is no significant difference between my state after reaching home from the office. And it is absolutely value for money as well since it gives an average mileage of 45 minimum to 49 km/liter of petrol.
Don't be confused, go straight to the tvs premium showroom nearby you and give the token, and wait for delivery,
Just make your mind a little bit cool out of the thought of re-brand value among the public around you, just think tvs is the brand that jointly produces rr310 and g310r of bmw...What else do you need.....

  • Amazing bike by tvs - checked all boxes for me! 1 test ride - booked the bike - got it delivered in 2 days!

    Ashok

I was searching for a cruiser-type for 60-70% city commute and occasional long rides; came across tvs ronin one day on the websites - took a test ride on the next day - and that's it - booked the bike - delivered in 2 days.
Had researched on re hunter 350, classic 350, yezdi roadster jawa 42 and had test rides on these; indulged in many reviews out there on websites, youtube. Tvs ronin checked all the boxes for me.
Not too heavy to zip through traffic, easy maneuvering, silky smooth clutch, power disc break with dual ch abs; excellent ride quality, easy and confident cornering even at 40-60 kmph. Stable braking. Smooth overtakes, comfortable seating position, and for pillion rider too. Great suspension!
Mileage - before first service - 35-36 kmpl - this should increase after 1st service
Looking forward to going on longer rides!!

  • A great bike to ride

    Abhoy Pathak

At the time of buying I was told that it will give a mileage of 40, however, post first service it surpassed it, and provided a mileage of 52.5 kmpl on highways.
The only cheat code is to drive it between 60 to 70, and maintain rpm between 4000 to 5000.
It has been an eye candy on the roads and great so far. Rest.... Let's see how it performs in the future.

    Tips for other riders

When on highways, drive between 60 to 70 KMPH and maintain RPM between 4000 to 5000 to achieve the best mileage. When going off-road during the rainy season, keep tyre pressure low, as the back wheel may slip sometimes, especially in wet mud with very fine particles.

  • Good in looking and maintence but servicing is poor

    Haneef

    1. Firstly my buying experience is not so good because I have expectations to make celebrations while taking the delivery of the bike, but it does not happen to me because the show room has no such arrangements or very cheap and unclean maintenance and background to take photos like something.
I bought the tvs ronin at 2,06,500 rupees including freebies like a helmet, tea cup, handkerchief and key chain.
    2. Riding experience is really good. I am a beginner rider and not a pro rider but this bike is really easy to ride in the city and highway.
    3. For me the ronin looks big but not bulky. And the design is the excellent front side and back side as well.
Definitely, it is an eye catcher in the crowd. Everyone will look at you and asks about the ronin.
    4. I have completed my first servicing of the bike with more than 1200 kms riding. I am getting a shocking and excellent mileage of more than 45 kmpl.
And talking about service it is not really good because usually, ronin has a no-wait servicing feature means express service in an hour. But when I gave my bike to service I waited more than 4 hours for the delivery. And the first service billing is 930/- rupees.
    5. Pros: design, suspension, digital meter, led indicators, smooth braking, mileage
    Cons:
    A) pillion seat is small
    B) some times when gear shifting is done some sound will generate
    C) chain sound is also observed with 500 - 600 kms riding experience
    D) accessories are always out of stock to buy.

  • Versatile bike

    Naresh Patti

I had a great buying experience with the leader and I'm the 5th guy who has purchased ronin in hyderabad.
Nevertheless, in the short time that I spent riding it, I didn’t find the performance to be lacking either. The low-end response is slow, with a rapid build-up in pace. Acceleration in each gear feels quick and there’s enough punch at the top end as well. This, coupled with the tractability, should make for a good city and highway touring machine.
My bike performance got doubled after my first servicing.
Pros: build quality, break system, versatile bike you can use on any type of road.
Cons: color choices would have more.

  • A good bike for daily commute as well as long rides

    Vyom

The buying experience was good. Have installed rear rack, visor, tank grips, and a usb charger sold by tvs. No issues so far, getting an average between 40-45 kmpl. For people getting less mileage on the bike: ensure tyre pressure is as recommended in the manual and use the correct gear according to rpm and speed (the instrument cluster will give up or down arrows as well). Also, ask your service centre to adjust the rear suspension by letting them know if you feel the suspension is too hard or soft for you. It works like magic on the comfort level and bike handling. The only con is during rainy weather, the rear tyre also splashes your back, and it gets dirty; waiting to find a nice tyre hugger for this model to rectify this issue. Not many off-market accessories (backrest compatible with the rear rack and tyre hugger) are available yet in Bangalore since this is a new model.

  • A perfect competitor

    Parthasarathy M
